Video Switcher vs. Capture Card
A capture card usually converts one external video signal into a source a computer can use. A video switcher accepts multiple sources and decides what appears in the live program.
Some switchers include a USB webcam output, recording, or a built-in streaming encoder. Others provide only HDMI or SDI program outputs and still require a capture card or separate encoder. The words switcher, capture device, and streaming encoder are not interchangeable.
Do All Sources Work Together?
